Andrew Wallace is deeply committed to supporting school-aged children (4+), parents, family units, and adults on their journey towards healing and growth. He specializes in Oppositional Defiant Disorder and behavioral difficulties, complex trauma and PTSD including abuse, anxiety, parental empowerment, family dynamics and communication, mood disorders including depression and Bipolar Disorder, identity difficulties, and suicidal ideations. He is highly effective in working directly with parents on helping them better understand their children’s issues and what they are going through. Andrew also works with adult males experiencing depression, anxiety, sexual addiction, relationship issues, and career transitions.
Andrew firmly believes in the inherent worth and potential of every individual. He values the strengths and uniqueness of all cultures and backgrounds and engages in faith-based interventions at the individual’s discretion. His practice is guided by the following principles: Every person has the capacity for self-directed growth. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful catalysts for change. Play is the natural language of children and a vital tool for healing. Families are interconnected systems with the power to support and nurture each other.
Andrew received a Master of Social Work from Kennesaw State University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Georgia. He has extensive practice and training in child-centered play therapy, trauma-focused play therapy, child parent relational therapy, trust based relational interventions, and is currently becoming nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Prior to working with children and adults in private practice, Andrew was a lead, school-based therapist in Cherokee County and worked in the Juvenile Court system. Andrew’s personal passions are rock climbing, reading, cooking, and spending time with family.
A note from Andrew —
I envision a world where every child feels heard, every parent feels supported, and every individual has the tools to thrive. Through unconditional positive regard, acceptance, and connection I aim to empower individuals and families to tap into their inner wisdom, foster emotional intelligence, and cultivate lasting positive change. Together, we can build a foundation for lifelong emotional well-being, empowerment and fulfilling relationships.
