Whether searching for a counselor for yourself or your child, Angie Fowler enjoys working with clients of all ages and considers it a privilege to journey beside each of her clients as they experience life transitions, anxiety and stress, OCD, relationship issues, school related issues or learning differences, or traumatic experiences. Angie’s philosophy is strength-based, whether working with a child who is struggling emotionally and may benefit from play therapy or an adult who prefers to work collaboratively through a cognitive-behavioral approach or a trauma focused approach. Angie also has specific, advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) from EMDRIA, providing an evidenced-based framework to help individuals experience healing from traumatic events.

Angie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia. Prior to working with children and adults in private practice, Angie was an educator and a school administrator in public and private educational settings.

Angie holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in learning differences from Valdosta State University, as well as a dual Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University. Angie is a Psychometrist with certification from The University of Alabama and offers educational testing in collaboration with licensed psychologists in Georgia. Most recently, she began training with Heartland Play Therapy Institute to pursue credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).

In addition to practicing at Atlanta Wellness Collective, Angie enjoys spending time with her husband and three young adult daughters, playing golf, and attending UGA football games.

A note from Angie —

I understand that finding a counselor can be stressful and strongly believe that finding a counselor who “fits” with your personality and situation is equally as important as the therapeutic tools used throughout the counseling process. I look forward to connecting with you, helping you discover your strengths, and meeting you on the journey of life so that you can learn, heal, and grow in a safe and warm environment.
