Get to Know Hannah Jordan

How did I get into this career?

From early on, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, and I wasn’t sure what that looked like. I graduated from Georgia College & State University with a Community Health degree. After working for a non-profit for a few years, I realized I wanted to work one-on-one with individuals. At the same time, my own mental health was becoming an important priority in my own life. I began pursuing a Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree at Richmont Graduate University soon after.

What is my favorite thing about counseling?

My favorite thing about counseling is creating relationships and being there to see growth and healing within clients. It’s a true honor to sit with individuals, provide a safe space to process, and work together through the hard work that is done in session and celebrate the growth that is seen outside of session.

What do I like to do when I’m not at Atlanta Wellness Collective?

I like to spend a lot of time outside. I like to hike on local trails with my husband and dog, meet up with my friends to eat around Atlanta, play board games and cards, watch the Braves, and I play Alta tennis on the weekends. My friends and family mean the world to me, so I spend time with them every chance I get.

What do I hope for my clients?

My hope is that each client finds hope, peace, healing, and growth from our sessions. I hope that the experience of counseling is safe and a good experience. Although counseling is not always easy, my hope is that clients glean the benefits and can see the fruits that follow the hard work. I hope that my clients leave counseling feeling strong, confident and proud of themselves and the work they have done.
