Get to Know Jenna Elliott

How did I get into this career?

My family was the catalyst for me to start thinking about a future in counseling. My brother struggled his entire life with mental illness, and my desire to help others who were struggling with their mental health was strong. My mom is a school counselor and went back to school while I was in high school to get her PhD in counseling. She has always been supportive and a role model for me. I also loved the first Psychology class I took at Berry College and was officially hooked!

What is my favorite thing about counseling?

My favorite thing about counseling is my relationships with my clients. I truly feel honored, and I don’t take it lightly, that clients share their stories with me. It’s a very brave thing for clients to reach out for counseling, and I love playing a small role in their healing journey.

What do I like to do when I’m not at Atlanta Wellness Collective?

I’m a mom to my three children, and they bring me so much joy! I’ve been married to my husband, Ben, for 17 years, and we love spending time as a family. I also have two very large puppies that take a lot of energy. I enjoy reading and hiking when I have some “me time”.

What do I hope for my clients?

My greatest hope for my clients is healing and wholeness. I want them to leave our sessions with a sense of hope for the future. I’m so thankful to be able to walk alongside them on that journey.
