Jennifer Oswald enjoys working with teens and adults of all ages in navigating the changes and challenges of life. She recognizes that each client has a unique story and needs individualized attention, care, treatment, and support. She approaches psychotherapy from holistic perspective, addressing mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational health, with the goal of achieving personal growth and lasting, meaningful change. She emphasizes the primary importance of healthy and richly connected relationships, as well as the importance and impact of power, choice, and freedom in approaching all of life’s many changes and challenges. Jennifer also has specific, advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), providing an evidenced-based framework to help individuals experience healing from traumatic events.
Jennifer provides warm, personalized, and thoughtfully designed care. She combines her warm and empathetic manner with a trained analytical mind to bring head and heart into your work together. When appropriate, Jennifer enjoys working with clients who wish to incorporate their faith into counseling.
Jennifer has lived in Marietta for the past twenty years. She is currently receiving a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. Jennifer holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida, a Master’s in Business Administration (Leadership and Global Management) from Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Wake Forest University. She also holds a Graduate Certificate from Talbot School of Theology in Biblical and Theological Studies. Outside of her work and studies, she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her family, especially traveling internationally together. She has been married to her husband for thirty years and has four children (one who joined the family via adoption). Jennifer teaches Bible study, remains an active member of the Georgia Bar, and has three decades of service to the Greater Atlanta community via nonprofit boards and other community service roles.
At Atlanta Wellness Collective, our Counseling Interns are closely supervised by an in-house Clinical Supervisor, which means that you benefit from having multiple counselors whose time and expertise are applied to working with you. Jennifer is currently under the supervision of Nicole Thaxton, PhD, LPC, NCC, CPCS. Counseling Interns also offer counseling sessions at a significantly reduced rate.
A note from Jennifer —
I believe in the power of human connection and that the greatest tool in the counseling room is the authentic and safe relationship between the counselor and client. I believe that together we can discover and tap resources that you already have within yourself and within your environment to heal, grow, and create change. Together we can employ new tools and draw on your character strengths to enable you to not only survive, but flourish. I look forward to connecting with you or your family as we journey together toward your goals.
