Valerie firmly believes in the importance of holistic care within counseling. To her, it's not just about addressing symptoms; it's about delving deeper to understand the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in each individual's journey towards healing. She recognizes that true well-being encompasses not only mental health but also physical vitality, emotional resilience, and spiritual fulfillment. By integrating various therapeutic modalities and fostering a supportive environment that honors each person's unique experiences and needs, Valerie strives to empower her clients to achieve holistic wellness and lead more fulfilling lives.
Valerie values authentic connection; providing each individual with personalized care. She looks forward to walking with you as you navigate the intricacies of life. Valerie is trauma-informed and also enjoys working with clients who wish to incorporate their faith into counseling.
Valerie is currently receiving a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Richmont Graduate University. She graduated from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Outside of her work and studies, Valerie enjoys reading, doing DIY home renovations, and exploring and spending time with her husband and their dog, Indie.
At Atlanta Wellness Collective, our Counseling Interns are closely supervised by an in-house Clinical Supervisor, which means that you benefit from having multiple counselors whose time and expertise are applied to working with you. Valerie is currently under the supervision of Jonathan Smith, LPC. Counseling Interns also offer counseling sessions at a significantly reduced rate.
