Alexandra Carver enjoys working with children (ages 3+), teens, adults, and families as they no longer allow anxiety, upbringing, trauma, and difficult life experiences to define their day-to-day living. Her areas of focus include play therapy, family therapy and family conflict including separation and divorce, parenting, communication, trauma, EMDR, neurodiversity and ADHD, and anxiety and stress. Alexandra also has specific, advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), providing an evidenced-based framework to help individuals experience healing from traumatic events, and AutPlay, a specific modality of counseling for neurodivergent children and teens.

Alexandra believes humans are designed to be intimately connected with others in loving and secure relationships, and when connection and safety become broken, behavioral issues, relational issues, and emotional pain can occur. The counseling relationship can provide a safe support to help you or your family restore and rebuild peace and stronger relationships. Alexandra allows a space for children (and oftentimes their parents) to play, be active, creative, and feel confident expressing themselves to find healing and feel empowered. She is highly effective in working directly with parents to set goals and better understand their child’s challenges and what they are going through.

A note from Alexandra —

Taking that first step toward healing can feel daunting and stressful. Counseling is a collaborative relationship that can help you transform and gain confidence; you are not alone. I’m excited to work alongside you to grow!
