Growing with Curiosity

Fake it ‘til you make it? That sounds overrated but when you break it down, it can really work. Instead of faking it, act as if you are already the person you aspire to become. Lean into your curiosity and allow yourself to operate as if things are the way you want them to be.

CAUTION: Faking it does not mean spending more than what you’ve budgeted or using heavy machinery you have not been trained to use. It means operating from the mindset of the fully realized version of yourself, whereby you have let go of self-doubt and embraced the power, grace, and beauty within you. Ask yourself, what would the healthy version of myself do in this situation?

Another strategy is to think of your growth as a small plant that needs your intentional care to develop and eventually bear fruit. When the plant does not yield what you’ve intended, you then explore potential vulnerabilities: Is this environment sufficient? Has the plant gotten enough water? Has there been any trauma to this plant?

Now consider asking those questions about your personal development: Is my environment supporting the person I am working to become? Am I hydrating my mind, body, and spirit? Have I experienced any trauma? Becoming curious about these questions provides you with an opportunity to discover more appropriate ways to move forward.

Finally, instead of holding onto guilt or shame for not reaching arbitrary goals, use curiosity to find a way to your goals. You have so much to offer the world, your community, and your family. Sometimes it just takes a bit more curiosity to identify a more fitting path to fulfillment.
